Asconi is the founding family project (since 1994) in Puhoi village (Ialoveni, ~30 min from Chișinău) — a complete wine estate emphasizing traditional Moldovan hospitality. On site: 12 rustic thatched-roof cottages (20 rooms), ASCONI restaurant (Moldovan cuisine from family recipes) and SOL NEGRU (Moldovan-Balkan fusion, farm-to-table). Attractions: outdoor pool, vegetable and flower gardens (ingredient source for restaurants), vineyard walks. Varieties: predominantly French (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Riesling, Muscat). Philosophy: «winery as home» — community, tradition, warm welcome.

“We come to this restaurant often. In general the food is very good, everything is freshly homemade. Our favourite wine is Penumbra, a delight. On Sundays there is also a band playing live popular music, although it is not compulsory to pay, in fact it is because the band asks you to. Unfortunately the service is bad, the waiters don't care about the customer at all.”
