Iarba Noastră is one of Chișinău's most discreet bakeries - open Friday (09:00-19:00) and Saturday (09:00-15:00), plus the EcoLocal market on Saturday, behind an unmarked door on Dîmbului Street. The bakers work with traditional sourdough, local flours and foraged wild herbs (hence the name 'Iarba Noastră' - 'Our Herb'). The specialties are sesame-seed rings stacked on a Moldovan-embroidered tablecloth, sourdough bread with a dark crust, brioches with herbal cream and crisp biscuits. The small interior has antique botanical prints on the wall and wicker baskets of warm bread. You buy a whole week of bread on Saturday and keep it in the freezer - by Tuesday the bread is gone.
