Mangal sits on Strada Arborilor in Botanica, about 2 km in a straight line from central Chisinau and roughly 550 m, also straight line, from Shopping MallDova. Its own site introduces it in a single line, “Restaurant of the European and Caucasian cuisine”, with no menu and no prices published; the same site says breakfast runs from 8:00 to 14:00 and points delivery to foodhouse.md and straus.md. Google lists it as open from 8:00 until midnight, until 2:00 on Friday and Saturday, with live music, outdoor seating, parking, and it is listed as good for children; the Google aggregate is 4.5 from over 1100 ratings. The reviews Google shows, however, are split. One 5 star review mentions live jazz in the background and a play area for kids; another, also 5 stars, singles out a memorable medovik. A 1 star review describes a stained chair at the table they were given, raw ingredients kept at room temperature that the waitress pulled from the order, a dessert that looked as if another guest had already tasted it and sent it back, and a host at the door who handed out the “reserved” tables selectively; the same reviewer writes that the place is kept unsanitary. Two more reviews, 2 and 3 stars, also fault the staff, and one says they were told the kitchen was closed an hour and 40 minutes before closing time.
