Mileștii Mici Winery
Guinness Record 2005 — 1.5 million bottles in the world's largest wine collection, in the underground cellars of Ialoveni.
Drive tour through underground tunnels + 4-6 vintage wine tasting in banquet hall at 80m depth.
Mileștii Mici holds the Guinness Record for «the world's largest wine collection» (August 2005, 1.5 million bottles in the «Golden Collection»). The same year, the Moldovan Parliament declared it a National Cultural Heritage. The cellar spans 200 km of underground galleries (of which ~55 km hold wine), at 50-80m depth, in old limestone mines converted. Rare vintages: Cabernet-Sauvignon 1987, Codru 1987, Auriu 1986 (dessert wine), Sauvignon from 1972. Tours are unique — you drive through the tunnels with your own car (or winery minibus), stopping at the underground tasting hall, at wine «statues» in niches, and at the banquet hall for dinner among old wines. Location: 18 km from Chișinău, signposted. Reservation required 3-7 days ahead; tours in RO/RU/EN.

“Strongly recommend making if you're in Chisinau When you arrive, check in at the main building by the trains. Options: The 'Hai, Noroc' package was perfect for us - 3 large glasses of wine with some cured meat. We had our own table, and stayed there for 45 mins. It's a great atmosphere - the love music was great (small tips optional). Transport: We took a Yandex from Chisina…”
“The biggest wine cellar in the world, with more than 200 km of tunnels. The visit is a fantastic experience: you go into the mine with a little car and explore the caves where they store the wine. We booked the lunch inside the caves with wine tasting. It's a crazy experience. The price is not so expensive for what they offer. We even got a bottle of wine as a gift!”
“Nice winery but the tour is kind of short and should be improved. Beautiful tasting room. The bottle of champagne as a gift has a great taste.”
