Art Hotel
Rebranded hotel on Mateevici, with praised rooms · there is a prison opposite
A renovated room after the rebranding, twenty minutes on foot from the centre
Worth it for the renovated rooms and the quiet location. Two things to know: there is no room service, and there is a prison in front of the hotel.
Hotel on Alexei Mateevici street, recently through a rebranding, which the staff tell guests about on arrival. The reviews since then split sharply. The good side: several guests describe clean, spacious, well-maintained rooms, a pleasant smell throughout the hotel, a good breakfast and friendly staff ready to help. A couple who stayed three days say everything was spotless and the service was excellent. The location is convenient, about twenty minutes on foot from the centre, in a quiet area. The bad side comes from a one-star review describing exactly the opposite: dirt on the floors, in the bathroom and on the furniture, as though nothing had been cleaned for weeks, plus poor-quality furniture and finishing. There are also two practical observations, from four-star reviews. The first: there is no room service and no restaurant available throughout, so if you need something simple, such as water, you have to ask at reception. The second is unusual and worth knowing in advance: there is a prison in front of the hotel, and some guests recount that, walking out, they were shouted at by prisoners from the windows.

The hotel’s location is convenient for visiting the city and reaching nearby places. I especially appreciated the calm atmosphere and good service. Overall, I would gladly recommend Art Hotel to other travelers.”
“My husband and I stayed at this hotel not long ago, and honestly — we were super impressed! The staff greeted us so politely and told us the place had just gone through a rebranding — and you can really feel it. We stayed for three days and totally loved it. The rooms were comfy, the whole place smelled amazing, everything was spotless, the food was delicious, and the service …”

The only thing we didn't like is the fact, that there's prison in front of the hotel and many times we walked out of the hotel prisoners were shouting at us from the windows. Kinda weird exper…”
