Curtea țărănească
A homestead in Pașcani, Criuleni · sparkling wine made by the host, home cooking and a sourdough workshop
A tasting of the host's sparkling wine, with a home-cooked meal and, on request, a sourdough bread workshop
Worth it for an afternoon at a real homestead, not a winery tour · sparkling wine made by the host, home cooking and stories about wine, bread and Moldova. Message on Facebook first, it is a home, not a venue with hours.
A homestead in Pașcani, in Criuleni district, 21 km east of Chișinău as the crow flies · "an unusual place in the middle of a field", per one review, with a single Facebook link instead of a website. The host is Sergio: visitors talk about "his attention to detail in his construction, sparkling wine making, and food", about the sparkling wine he makes and about the "amazing home made food" · traditional Moldovan food, "pleasant conversations about a wine, a bread, the house and Moldova in general". One visitor did a sourdough bread workshop here, "an excellent experience"; another mentions bicycles to rent and hiking. The wine tasting is "very interesting and delicious", and the place is called "a hidden gem". Lodging was not ready at the time of the reviews: one visitor is "definitely coming back when he finishes his b&b", another looks forward to "a future possibility to stay overnight".

This place is special because you don't feel like a customer · you feel like you've been invited to someone's home. It's family-owned, visits need to be arranged in advance, and the owner actually spends time with you. He bakes bread, serves locally grown fruits and vegetables and makes small quantities of natural sparkling wine. For me, this is the real Moldovan gospodar experience: farming, food, wine and hospitality all connected. It's exactly the kind of small, authentic place I love introducing people to when I organize private trips around Moldova.
