Hotel Cosmos
Iconic 1983 Soviet brutalist tower — 16 floors, ex-Intourist landmark
Stay in an iconic 1983 Soviet brutalist tower + 16th-floor panoramic restaurant
Hotel Cosmos is one of Chișinău's most photographed brutalist landmarks — built in 1983 by Soviet architects as the city's flagship Intourist tower, 16 floors high, with the bold geometric facade that defined late-Soviet hotel architecture. After post-Soviet decline, Cosmos was renovated to acceptable 3★ standard while keeping the original modernist lobby, parquet hallways and signature panoramic restaurant on the top floor with 360° views over the city. Rooms are functional rather than luxurious. The appeal is the architecture itself — visitors interested in Soviet modernism, brutalist photography or retro travel choose Cosmos as a destination, not just a bed. Central location across from the Chișinău Arena.

“Great stay! Staff were absolutely lovely, and let me check in very early and even arranged a taxi to the airport the next morning (which is about 100 lei for anyone wondering), and they were very happy and polite with good English skills. All in all, a very nice hotel with very reasonable prices in a very good location.”
“Cosmos hotel is an experience by itself, a kind of time machine. Ok, don't go there if you want to impress a woman, Moldovan girls have a very bad opinion of this place (and security guard may ask you something if you try to enter with a girl who didn't check-in with you) But... There are something special, unforgettable there, this hotel has its own personality and there is a …”
