A must as your starting point - pick up the map, historical context and ticket here before heading up to the cave monastery and Butuceni village at Orheiul Vechi.
The information and administration centre of the Orheiul Vechi archaeological complex, at the entrance to the reserve. Here you'll find detailed site maps, thematic exhibits on the history of the Dacian, medieval and cave-dwelling settlements, and practical advice from the guiding team. It's the recommended first stop before exploring the rock-cut monastery, the medieval Orhei fortress and the banks of the Răut. Visitors arriving by car leave their vehicle here and set off on marked trails. It runs extended hours in summer, and the team speaks Romanian, Russian and English.
