Chikapulya
Hand-twisted khinkali and molten khachapuri · Georgian kitchen straight from Tbilisi
Traditional khinkali served by waiters in national costume, and khachapuri with tkemali sauce
Authentic Georgian restaurant where waiters in traditional dress serve hand-folded khinkali (12 dumplings minimum, as tradition demands), cheese-melted khachapuri, and homemade tkemali sauce. The interior evokes a Tbilisi trattoria — solid wood tables, Caucasian rugs, long communal benches for large groups. The kharcho here earns constant praise, and the kitchen stays open until closing, convenient for late dinners. Best for lunch specials or weekend dinners with friends, when you can order multiple dishes family-style.

“The venue is clean, large and welcoming. The staff, even though their primary language wasn't English (which is ours), were great in assisting in ordering and service. The food is incredible. We enjoyed the 2 course lunch special for two persons plus house wine. Nothing but thumbs up for this restaurant and their staff.”
“It was very tasty and atmospheric, but a bit pricey for this city. The kharcho was one of the most delicious I've ever had. The cheburek was simply good, and the khinkali were wonderful. An excellent Georgian cafe, with prompt staff in beautiful national costumes. And the kitchen here works until closing, which is a big advantage.”
“The name 'Chakapula' itself promised an authentic Georgian experience, and it didn't disappoint. The Khinkali and Khachapuri were excellent, reminding me of the wonderful flavors from my trip to Georgia. However, the cucumber and tomato salad was a bit underwhelming compared to the incredibly fresh versions I had in Georgia. Overall, it's still a very good spot to satisfy your …”
- Service can be brisk — some guests would prefer more time at the table
- Tomato-cucumber salad less impressive than the other dishes
