The Dniester bank by the Vadul lui Vodă-Coșnița bridge is one of the most accessible nature escapes from Chișinău - about 30 minutes east by car and you're on the riverbank, under the massive structure of the road bridge. The water is calm here, reflecting clouds and the concrete pillars; willows and poplars grow on the banks. Locals come to fish, picnic on the grass or just sit on a log and watch the water. There are no facilities - bring your own water, food and a mat if you want to stay a while. (The far bank belongs to the Coșnița security zone - the relaxing spot is on the Vadul lui Vodă side.)
