Campingul din Vadul lui Vodă
A classic rest base on the Dniester at Vadul lui Vodă · sandy beach, cabins to rent, BBQ spots · ~24 km from Chișinău
Friends' weekend: tent spot + BBQ + sunset on the beach with the bridge silhouetted in mauve · campsite fee ~150 MDL per person + your own provisions
Worth it if you want a Dniester beach day or a night in nature ~24 km from Chișinău, classic Moldovan style: cabins to rent, BBQ spots and a sandy beach. Nostalgic and affordable, but dated - don't expect hotel comfort. Limited parking at peak times.
Campingul din Vadul lui Vodă is one of the classic rest bases at Vadul lui Vodă - Chișinău's weekend “riviera,” about 24 km east on the right bank of the Dniester. Run by Moldsindtur, it has cabins to rent (some with a pool in the yard), BBQ spots and access to the sandy Dniester beach, set in a wooded area. It's a nostalgic, old-school escape - a bit dated, like childhood summer holidays - rustic rather than hotel-comfortable. Weekends come with noise (music, kids running around) but mornings are calm by the river. Good for a beach day, a barbecue with friends, a night in nature or fishing; parking is limited at peak times.
- Closest serious camping to Chișinău · only 25 km
- Sandy beach right on the Dniester bank
- Set-up BBQ spots with picnic tables and stone fire rings
- Bars and restaurants nearby on the other side of the bridge
- Beautiful sunsets - the concrete bridge becomes a silhouette on purple sky
- Generous parking for tents, cars and RVs
- The Vadul lui Vodă bridge as a silhouette against the purple sunset, reflected on the calm Dniester
- Tent spot at golden hour with the bridge structure visible in the distance
- Friends grilling at the set-up BBQ with the river just behind them

“A bit old. Needs to be renovated. But it reminds me of my childhood and summer vacations as a kid. 🥹”
“Some good camp houses are available to rent for an affordable price. Some have pools on their perimeter. The river Nistru and the sand beach are close by. Not so many parking spots, but there is a paid parking lot.”
“Super”
- Crowded and noisy on summer weekends - go on weekday for quiet
- Bathrooms basic - not luxury camping
- Some weekends have loud nearby parties at the riverbank bars
