Pensiunea Beciul Vechi
Wine pension with 200-year-old stone cellar, Mileștii Mici
Dinner in an 1825 stone cellar with wine drawn from the barrel
Beciul Vechi pension sits above an 1825 stone cellar — Cosăuți-stone vaults still active for maturing the family's wines (Cabernet, Merlot, Rara Neagră, Fetească). The 8 rooms occupy a traditional Bessarabian house with verandah and attic, solid wood furniture and wool blankets. Dinner is served directly in the cellar at long oak tables, with wine drawn from the barrel: Moldovan zeamă in clay pot, mămăligă with cheese and cracklings, oven-roasted pork, sarmale, salty brânză pies. Ideal location for the Mileștii Mici tour (10 min — Guinness record for the world's largest wine collection) and Cricova (20 min).
