The story

The "Gloria Muncii" museum of the Electric Transport Authority, in a three-storey brick building raised in 1913-1916 at the corner of Columna and Mihai Viteazul streets for the office of the Belgian company that launched the tram in the city, per the RTEC site; the museum opened here in 1974, and Google shows it Monday to Friday, 10:00-14:00, with no address. The site describes the exhibition: photographs of the horse trams, the electric trams and the seven trolleybus models that ran in Chișinău, a 1912 tram map, an electric map of the trolleybus routes with each line lit separately, the first ticket machine from the trolleybuses, ticket punchers, the company chronicle and the list of veterans; in the yard, "the capital's first horse-drawn tram". Reviews: "small, cute but very atmospheric", with "the positive side of the soviet atmosphere" and kind staff; you enter by pressing a button, "in a few minutes a lady comes and welcomes you" and tells the history on an interactive map; "the tour guide worked for the electric transport company for 50 years, so her storytelling is lively and colorful"; admission is free. The reservation comes from a Wednesday visitor, the only one in the museum: "none of the staff speaks English", everything is written only in Romanian and Russian, "I would rather pay for an English guide than be left alone in the middle of the depot".
