Sala cu Orgă
Classical concert hall in the former State Bank, with a Rieger-Kloss organ
Organ concert in the iconic-acoustics hall in the heart of Chișinău
Yes - free Sunday organ concerts and weekly symphonic recitals in a hall with very good acoustics on Ștefan cel Mare.
Organ Hall is Moldova's main symphonic concert hall, inaugurated in 1978 in a neoclassical building on Ștefan cel Mare Blvd 81 (a former bank, rebuilt 1975-78). Its centrepiece is the Rieger-Kloss pipe organ (Czech Republic) - ~4,000 pipes, 41 stops, 4 keyboards, installed in 1978 - one of the largest and most sophisticated organs in Eastern Europe. The yearly programme has 80+ concerts: organ recitals (Bach, Buxtehude, Frescobaldi), symphonic evenings with guest orchestras, opera recitals (arias by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart), sacred-music evenings (during Lent) and themed nights (jazz, gospel). 530 seats, with exceptional acoustics from the massive wood and high arcades. Sunday organ concerts (17:00) are free to the public. A favourite for classical-music lovers.

“While the outside has been restored and looks nice, the interior is a bit old and has evidence of water damage in places. It definitely has seen better days but still impressive and the music was good.”
“The small but beautifully simple white and blue building is the Organ Hall. It regularly hosts concerts by national and international players, and the interior is particularly beautiful. Tickets for events at the Moldovan Theatre and Concert Hall can be booked on the website. # Chisinau # Chișinău # Moldova”
“Wonderful venue! We went there during the international choir festival 'A ruginit frunza din vie' that takes place every autumn.”
- Worn interior in some areas
- Visible humidity on the walls
- Seats a bit old
