Family winery in the Călărași woods (Bahu), author wines from native grapes - founded 2020, visits by appointment
An artisanal cellar tasting of four to six of their own wines, plus a walk through the vineyard
Worth it for a by-appointment tasting at a young family winery in the Călărași woods - author wines from native and international grapes, including a traditional-method sparkling. Book ahead.
BAHU is a family winery in the village of Bahu (Călărași district), in the heart of the woods, founded in 2020 by Mihai Iuzvac (winemaker) together with Anton Deleu, family and friends. It makes about 10,000 bottles a year from 4 hectares, across 6 grape varieties - reds (Fetească Neagră, Rară Neagră, Cabernet Franc, Merlot) and whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Alb de Suruceni) - controlled, refined author wines that revive the winemaking heritage of Bahu village. Visits and tastings at the winery are available by prior appointment.
