Worth it for a long traditional lunch or a night in the countryside next to Orheiul Vechi, if you come as a couple or a small group and book ahead. A family agro-guesthouse in Trebujeni village, 34.7 km in a straight line from central Chisinau, right under the cliff at the entrance to the village, inside the Orheiul Vechi reserve. Per the site, the family started hosting visitors in 1990 and opened as a guesthouse in 2005, and the hosts describe themselves as pioneers of rural tourism in Moldova. The site also advertises a cooking master class, corn-husk plaiting, crochet and embroidery workshops, a folk music programme, cart and bicycle rides, a 4x4 off-road tour, birdwatching and farm chores. Google reviews split in two. Individual guests praise the quiet, hosts Galina and Liliana, and the large home-cooked portions. A one-star review from guests who say they paid 70 EUR a night describes a room at 13 degrees on arrival and 8 degrees overnight with no heater, hot water running out mid-shower and a poor breakfast, while another one-star review, from a coach with 50 people from Romania, says the dining room was far too small for the group, the bread and pies were stale and the pieces of meat were counted out. Per Google, the posted hours are 11:00 to 20:00 every day.

“Very nice and comfy place. It was so quiet in our room, I haven't sleep so well in years. The host is very friendly, and the traditional food was so delicious, even it was so much (a lot of side dishes) we ate almost everything.
