KVINT is a wine and divin (brandy) distillery in Tiraspol, at 38 Lenin Street, 60.8 km in a straight line from the centre of Chisinau. Per the company site, the story starts in 1897, the first distillates for divin were laid down to age in 1938, and the name KVINT stands for cognacs, wines and drinks of Tiraspol. Visits are by appointment only and cover a tour of the main production shops plus a tasting. The site lists three divin tasting levels, each 1.5 hours, five drinks of 30 ml: Standard at 15 $ per person with a minimum of five people, Premium at 35 $ with a minimum of three, VIP at 70 $ with a minimum of two, the level that pours divins aged 15, 25, 40, 50 and 60 years, against 5 to 15 years at Standard and 10 to 40 at Premium. Wine tastings come in four levels, 15 $ or 30 $ per person, five or six wines of 50 ml. A buffet is included in the price. Requests go in at least five working days ahead, to [email protected] or by phone, and tours run Monday to Friday only, within working hours of 9:00 to 17:00, where 17:00 is when the tasting ends, not the last start time · the Google hours of 9:00 to 22:00, Monday to Saturday, are not the visiting hours. Nobody under 18 is allowed on the plant grounds, and arriving more than 30 minutes late cancels the booking. Google reviews praise the guides, one of whom explained the difference between cognac and brandy, the tour in several languages, the barrel halls, the museum and the factory shop. A 1-star review reports the other side: prices high for an EU visitor and a minimum group of ten people, because of which the author writes they never got in, plus that the service was very bad.
