KVINT Wine & Divin Distillery
Iconic Tiraspol distillery — divin (cognac) since 1897, frozen in Soviet nostalgia
Underground cellar tour 100k+ barrels + 50yr divin tasting + factory shop
KVINT is one of the most important and iconic alcoholic-beverage brands in the entire post-Soviet space — the Tiraspol distillery founded in 1897 by Bessarabian Greeks (the Karayanopulos family) as "Tiraspol Wine and Cognac Factory," nationalised in 1944 under Soviet rule and renamed KVINT (acronym for "Cognac, Wine and Refining in Tiraspol"). Today the main producer of divin (Moldovan cognac) in the region, with a portfolio covering all categories: young divin 3-5 years, VS and VSOP, plus premium labels aged 25, 50 and 60 years ("Souvenir of Tiraspol" 50yr — sold at $300/bottle export). The factory tour (48h advance booking, passport required to enter Transnistria) includes the underground cellars with Caucasian oak barrels (100,000+ active barrels, some 60 years old), blending hall, vintage bottle museum and 5-7 product tasting paired with traditional Moldovan food. Factory shop with prices 50% below Chișinău. Iconic, must-see for cognac/brandy enthusiasts.

You can visit alone but must pay for five people. Interesting place with his history exposition. You can see also production and big rooms where barrels are stored. Degustation is also ok. There are some snacks and cognacs as w…”

The guide we had was very chatty and friendly, as well as very knowledable about the production of brandy. You can buy many different products in the factory store. I bough a very fancy bottle for just around 200 rubles. Highly recommend to vi…”
