The landscape mixes native grasslands, scrub thickets, and steep riverbanks, creating habitats for rare species like cormorants, egrets, and herons. Best visited at sunrise or sunset when the low light bathes the valley and birds are most active. Vehicle access reaches the reserve boundary, then foot trails lead down to the water.
