The sheep and goat farm of Cristian's family at Breanova, in Orhei district, open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. No website, just a Facebook page. Reviews are long and consistent. You are greeted with hot homemade pies and cornelian cherry compote, then comes a hike through the village and hills, with views and stories about the places. The carriage ride is a special part: you stroke the horse and learn how to harness and unharness it. Children pet lambs, cows and goats, milk the goats and ride in the cart, some for the first time. The day ends with a lunch or dinner of Moldovan dishes cooked in the cauldron, with stories and songs by the fire, with a view of Orhei National Park. Sheep cheese is available to buy.
