Lacul Taraclia
Natural lake with pelicans and gulls, perfect for birdwatching and fishing in southern Moldova
Colonii de pelicani și peste 50 specii de păsări acvatice migratoare, observabile primăvara și toamna de pe malurile largi ale lacului
A wild natural lake in southern Moldova, known for its pelican and seagull colonies that stop here during migration. The wide shores and calm waters provide perfect conditions for fishing and birdwatching, especially in spring and autumn when hundreds of aquatic bird species fly through. The soft clay bottom and warm water in summer make it suitable for swimming, but this is not a developed beach – you come here for raw nature, not urban amenities. Bring binoculars and patience; the lake rewards those who take time to observe the horizon where pelicans glide low over the water and gulls wheel overhead, creating sounds reminiscent of the sea.
