Țaul Park
64 hectares of wild forest, historic pond, and a crumbling French manor from 1914
Țaul Park spans 64 hectares around a 2-hectare lake and shelters over 150 plant species, some rare for Moldova. At its heart stand the ruins of a French-style mansion built in 1914 by a Franco-Russian banker — a building that has awaited restoration for years, stuck in planning limbo. The site holds enormous potential, but infrastructure is abandoned: paths are overgrown, a small Soviet-era zoo with birds in dirty cages detracts from the charm, and the old manor remains a ruin. Worth a walk for the sheer scale and raw natural beauty, but come prepared for a neglected landscape, not polished urban parkland. Ideal for photographers drawn to romantic decay and locals seeking a quiet forest stroll away from the city.

“The park sits on 64 hectares and has a 2 hectare pond. It has 150 plant species, some uncommon for the area. Not very well maintained. A big minus is the Soviet era little zoo, with some chickens and swans in small, dirty cages. The mansion in the park was erected in 1914 by a French- Russian banker. There is a plan to renew the building, but it is on paper only.”
“It's huge. And it's the biggest park in moldova . There is a lot of animals and antique abandoned homes . But , still the place is Rich of natural beauty . Your evenings will be great in this park .”
“The place was beautiful one day, but nowadays is really abandoned. What a waste of precious touristic attraction!”
- Infrastructură abandonată, alei neîngrijite
- Grădina zoologică mică și murdară cu păsări în cuști
- Conacul historic în ruină, fără plan de renovare clar
