Costești-Stânca is the reservoir on the Prut, on the border with Romania, built in 1978. At around 5,900 hectares it is the largest reservoir on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Reviews describe it as a beautiful place, good for time with the family or with a camper, and impressive for the view. One visitor notes a two and a half hour drive from Chișinău. The shores are undeveloped. It is not to be confused with the Costești Tourist Complex, the campsite next door.
