The Dry Waterfall
Seasonal waterfall and natural grottoes carved into limestone cliffs above the Dniester
Limestone grotto with sedimentary layers and moss — seasonal waterfall (April–May) or a dry natural cathedral with a singular energy
A seasonal waterfall that flows in spring and after heavy rains, tumbling through a moss-covered limestone cave cloaked in lush vegetation. During dry season, the grotto reveals sedimentary rock strata and a cathedral-like natural chamber perfect for exploration and photography. Accessible via a cliff-side trail along the Dniester, near the Țipova cave monastery complex. Most dramatic in April-May when water flows, or in winter when ice stalactites form natural sculptures. Part of the Țipova landscape reserve, this spot carries a powerful sense of stillness — visitors describe feeling recharged by the deep, quiet energy of the gorge.
- Powerful energy and deep silence that recalibrates the mind
- Spectacular geological layers and limestone formations
- Essential part of the Țipova route — pairs perfectly with the cave monastery
- Lush moss and vegetation create a fairy-tale atmosphere
- Entrance to the grotto with stone layers and hanging vegetation
- View from above toward the Dniester canyon near the waterfall
- Lush green moss on the limestone walls

“I would leave this review under every place in Tsypovo. I go to Moldova twice a year, specifically here. The energy in these places is very strong, and you recharge and completely clear your mind of negativity and worries. I know every corner there; I've walked all the mountains, all the waterfalls, all the monasteries. It's very cool, and there aren't many tourists, only those…”
