Worth it for a real meal on the bank of the Dniester, in a house with a character of its own rather than a copied one, home cooking and a sunset that is half the reason. Come in the evening and book.
A rustic house on the bank of the Dniester at Molovata, with a traditional thatched roof. Google rates it as moderately priced; it is closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 to 21:00, Friday only from 14:00 to 20:00, Saturday from 12:00 and Sunday from 10:00, until 21:00. No website · you book by phone, it has a terrace, free parking and takes groups. Two things come up in reviews. The first is the food: "real homemade food with homemade ingredients" · someone mentions the chicken noodle soup, with chicken raised in nearby households · "a good traditional meal" to discover Moldova's traditions. The second is the sunset: several guests say that if you come in the evening, you catch the sun going down over the river, "the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset". The atmosphere is described as rustic, unique, cosy and quiet, with "a really cool" roof. One review, though, is harsh: a parent who came with a child was left waiting in the sun for over 30 minutes, after the "arrogant" waiters had said there was a free table, which turned out to be reserved.

A really cool family-owned restaurant and guesthouse right by the Nistru. What I like here is the character · it doesn't feel like somebody copied a hotel concept from somewhere else. The traditional reed roof, beautiful cellar, good food and location by the river give the whole place its own personality. It's also a great stop when exploring this part of the Nistru, especially when you connect several villages into one trip.
